In order to prove that the developed hardware meets the hardware safety requirements, tests have to be conducted. These tests are included in the Hardware Safety Requirements Specification, which is a prerequisite to this phase.


This clause in ISO26262 proposes methods for each ASIL level on the following topics:

  • Deriving test cases for hardware integration testing
  • Integration tests to verify the completeness and correctness of the safety mechanisms
  • Integration tests to verify robustness and operation under external stresses


Prerequisites:

  • Safety Plan (Refined)
  • Item integration and testing plan (Refined)
  • Hardware safety requirements specification
  • Hardware design specification

  • Hardware integration and testing report
