5-10 Hardware Integration and Testing

In order to prove that the developed hardware meets the hardware safety requirements, tests have to be conducted. These tests are included in the Hardware Safety Requirements Specification, which is a prerequisite to this phase.
This clause in ISO26262 proposes methods for each ASIL level on the following topics:
- Deriving test cases for hardware integration testing
- Integration tests to verify the completeness and correctness of the safety mechanisms
- Integration tests to verify robustness and operation under external stresses
